Stamford School was founded in 1532 under the encouragement of Lady Margaret Beaufort (mother of King Henry VIII) and established by the British businessman and Member of Parliament, William Radcliffe. Since its founding, the school has consistently maintained its first-class educational standards and prestigious social standing, producing numerous distinguished figures across various fields.
In 1920, Stamford School became a member of the Headmasters’ and Headmistresses’ Conference (HMC), demonstrating outstanding educational achievements and teaching quality in all respects.
The school is located in the historic town of Stamford, about an hour’s drive from central London. In 2013, Stamford was named the “Best Place to Live” by The Sunday Times. Five medieval churches, 17th-century stone buildings, and modern commercial establishments are interspersed throughout this charming town, creating a picturesque setting.
